The UCLA Parents’ Council is the Parent & Family Association’s premier volunteer organization comprised of family members who serve as ambassadors for the University. Council members engage with current and prospective families to foster connections in support of the University, volunteer their time and talents to the campus community and represent the parent perspective on the UCLA experience.

COUNCIL MEMBER COMMITMENTS

• Serve a one-year renewable term.
• Attend Parents' Council meetings at UCLA. (Two meetings take place in person, one online. Southern California residents must attend both in-person meetings annually. Members outside of Southern California must attend a minimum of one in-person meeting annually.)
• Actively participate in at least one field committee.
• Participate in a minimum of two (2) volunteer activities/events throughout the year (volunteer options include on campus, regional and online events).
• Represent the interests of all Bruin parents and serve as an ambassador to other UCLA parents and community members.

2024-25 ACADEMIC YEAR KEY DATES (Subject to Change)

• Sept. 19-21, 2024: Move-In Weekend 
• Sept. 22, 2024: Fall Parents' Council Meeting
• November 8-9, 2024: Bruin Family Weekend
• Jan. 25, 2025: Winter Parents' Council Meeting (Online)
• April 2025 (Date TBA): Bruin Day & Spring Parents' Council Meeting

• Parents' Council recruitment is a selective process used to identify a skilled and diverse group of highly dedicated parent volunteers to serve the UCLA Parent & Family Association. Your application should represent your best efforts to communicate your background, skills, motivations and interest in serving as ambassadors for UCLA.
